Subject: Existing Site Conditions – Barnard Creek 230kV Substation – Storage for System Spare
Transformer
Project # E21016801
Field Meeting Details: Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from at the Barnard Creek 230kV Substation
Attendees: Josh Witherspoon, Sr. Permitting Specialist
Project Details:
- Upgrade Barnard Creek 230 station to accommodate delivery and permanent storage of one
system spare 230/115kV transformer.
- Install Grade Pad, ground grid, foundation, and oil spill containment for the spare transformer.
Existing Site Conditions:
The area proposed for the spare transformer storage was previously developed as part of the Barnard
Creek 230kV Substation. This area is relatively flat and is currently maintained as a grassed area. No
wetlands were observed in the proposed storage area south of the access road and east of the existing
Transfer Station fence near Str 127 of the Barnard Creek – Town Creek Overhead 230kV transmission line.
Wetland areas are present north of the existing access road. These wetland areas have previously been
delineated and the proposed stormwater pond location will be outside of the jurisdictional wetland limits.
No impacts to jurisdictional wetlands or streams will result from this project.
