rd
MOTION: Nick Leger MOVED; SECONDED by Joe Irrera, that the minutes of the November 3
meeting be approved. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
1. Voice of the Customer. None this month. John suggested we have one of the triathlon organizers
attend as a voice of the customer in the future.
2. Top of Mind Topics. John asked if anyone had any top-of-mind topics to discuss. He then shared
that while at Long Leaf Park, he noticed that work is progressing on the ninja warrior site.
3. Director/Staff Q&A. Staff provided the following updates: Nothing new to report on Hanover
Pines. Currently waiting for the NCDOT report. The owl playground has been ordered. Did
receive news from FEMA regarding the river road pier. The National Marine fisheries permit was
received. The ninja warrior course is being installed along with the new basketball court. The
previous court near the baseball fields will be converted to a court for youth. The direction of
the courts has been changed and the lines repainted. Jodi passed out a rack card which lists all
the open positions we currently have available. Hoping that this will aid in getting staff as we
have several vacancies. The lighting at the Long Leaf Park tennis courts will changed out and
converted to LED lighting and the courts will be resurfaced in the spring. The playground at
Veterans Park is being constructed. (Playground was removed last year as the parts were
deteriorating.) A bike path will be constructed on Gordon Road which will connect to one that
will be constructed on N. College Road. Eventually the trail will take on past Laney HS and allow
you to get to the new library. (Proposed for FY 2023-2024)
