Borrow pits consists of small areas where the soil has been removed and is used as a fill material around
bridges, industrial sites, and other structures. Areas range in size from about 2 to 15 acres, but most
areas are less than 5 acres. Most areas have not been reclaimed, and areas that are revegetated were
done so by volunteer stands of grasses and trees. Capability subclass and woodland group not assigned.
