Section 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the County of New Hanover adopted October 6, 1969, as amended be and the same is hereby further amended as follows: Add: 23-97 Cemetery Parcel of land used for the permanent interment of one (1) or more dead human bodies and uses customarily incidental to the operation of a cemetery. Section 2. Any ordinance or part of any ordinance in conflict with this ordinance, to the extent of such conflict is hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance is adopted in the interest of public health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the County of New Hanover, North Carolina, and shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. Adopted this 3rd day of February, 1992. r- Chairman RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY WHEREAS, after due advertisement, bids were received and publicly opened by the Finance Department at 3:00 p.m. on the 22nd day of January, 1992, at the County Administration Building, 320 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, and the following bids were received for Three 1992 Motorcycles for the Sheriff's Department, Bid # 92-0245: Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson Britt's Yamaha Kawasaki $20,985.00 $29,323.20 AND WHEREAS, the Sheriff, the Finance Director County Manager recommend that the contract be awarded to Coast Harley-Davidson of Wilmington, North Carolina, the responsible bidder, in the amount of Twenty Thousand Nine Eighty-five Dollars and No ,Cents ($20,985.00); and the Carolina lowest Hundred AND WHEREAS, funds have been previously appropriated and are now in Account No. 110-431-4318-3000-6450 to cover this contract; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that the contract for Three 1992 Motorcycles for the Sheriff's Department, Bid # 92-0245 be awarded to Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson in the amount of Twenty Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-five Dollars and No Cents ($20,985.00); and that the County is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract, contract form to be approved by the County Attorney. Cha-- -n Board of Commissioners RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO CLOSE AN UNNAMED ROAD WHEREAS, a petition has been filed pursuant to N.C.G.S. ~153A-241, requesting the Board of Commissioners of New Hanovfrr County to close the following described public road: Being a twenty (20) foot right-of-way beginning at a point and intersecting with the northwestern right- of-way of Bald Eagle Lane and the northeastern property line of lot 31 as shown on the map of sections E and F of Porters Neck Plantation, recorded in Map Book 6, Page 1 of the New Hanover County Registry; running thence from said point 500 feet west to the northwest corner of lot 31; running thence 627 feet south to the southwest corner of lot 25 as shown in Map Book 6, Page 1 of the New Hanover County Registry, running thence 600 feet east to its intersection with Bald Eagle Lane. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board is considering closing said road to public use, and that a public hearing on this question will be held on the 4th day of March, 1992 at 7:30 p.m. in the General Assembly Room of the County Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, at which time the Board will hear all interested citizens and make a final determination as to whether the road shall be closed. That the Subdivision Ordinance of the County of New Hanover adopted October 18, 1969, as amended be and the sam~ i~ hereby further amended as follows: Under 41-1(7), add: (I) Dead-End Streets - All dead-end streets, excluding stub streets as specified in (h)l. and 2. above, shall be constructed with a cul-de-cac with a minimum radius of 40 feet (31 foot pavement radius) or other paved turnaround as approved by NCDOT. If the dead-end streets abutts undeveloped property and access to that parcel is needed to facilitate its development, the turnaround shall be platted so that a road connection to the adjoining property can be made. The cul-de-sac or turnaround may be removed once the street is extended to adjacent property. Section 2. Any ordinance or part of any ordinance in conflict with this ordinance, to the extent of such conflict is hereby repealed. Section 3. Adopted this 3rd day of February, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF NEW HANOVER BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY ~OMMISSIONERS IN THE MATTER OF ~SSIGNING STREET ADDRESS NUMBERS ORDER It appearing to the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that consideration has been given to the assignment of street address numbers on Terminal Road North and South, 1,lOO feet north of the Northeast Cape Fear River Bridge, located on Highway 421 North intersection fronting the east side of Highway 421, numerical range 1800-2000. WHEREAS, ready and accurate identification of developed property is important for the delivery of general County services, for the operation of commercial enterprises, for the response of emergency and public safety vehicles, and for the convenience of the general public; and WHEREAS, a comprehensive and systematic property numbering system is an efficient means of identifying property within the County; and WHEREAS, such a system will promote the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of New Hanover County. THEREFORE, it further appearing that a public hearing was held on the lrd day of February, 1992, at which time all persons were heard on the question of whether or not assigning house numbers would be in the public i~terest, and it further appearing that. notice of said hearing was prominently posted in at least two (2) locations along said street, that notice of the time, place and subject matter of the hearing was prominently posted at the County Courthouse, and publlshed in a newspaper of general circulation in the County.
