ASSEMBLY
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners held a Special Meeting on Monday, December 5, 2022
at 8:00 a.m. in the Assembly Room of the New Hanover County Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, Wilmington,
North Carolina.
Members present: Chair Julia Olson-Boseman; Vice-Chair Deb Hays; and Commissioner Rob Zapple.
Members absent: Commissioner Jonathan Barfield, Jr., and Commissioner Bill Rivenbark.
Staff present: County Manager Chris Coudriet; County Attorney Wanda Copley; and Clerk to the Board
Kymberleigh G. Crowell.
Chair Olson-Boseman stated that the special meeting is being held to consider adopting the public officials
bond resolution in advance of the Sheriff McMahon's oath of office, which is taking place today at 8:30 a.m. She
further stated that Commissioner Barfield and Commissioner Rivenbark are unable to attend the Special Meeting
and therefore, the Board members present need to excuse them from the Special Meeting.
Chair Olson-Boseman asked for a motion to excuse Commissioner Barfield and Commissioner Rivenbark
from the December 5, 2022 Special Meeting.
Motion: Commissioner Zapple MOVED, SECONDED by Vice-Chair Hays to excuse Commissioner Barfield and
Commissioner Rivenbark from the December 5, 2022 Special Meeting. Upon vote, the MOTION PASSED 3 TO 0.
Chair Olson-Boseman asked for a motion to adopt the resolution which approves the public officials bond
for the Finance Officer, Sheriff, Register of Deeds, and Tax Collector as presented.
Motion: Vice-Chair Hays MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner Zapple to adopt the resolution which approves the
public officials bond for the Finance Officer, Sheriff, Register of Deeds, and Tax Collector as presented. Upon vote,
the MOTION PASSED 3 TO 0.
A copy of the resolution is hereby incorporated as part of the minutes and is contained in Exhibit Book XLIII,
Page 38.1.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Chair Olson-Boseman adjourned the meeting at 8:01 a.m.
