LANDSCAPE NOTES:
1.CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR IDENTIFYING ALL UTILITIES PRIOR TO BEGINNING
CONSTRUCTION.
2.TREES SHALL BE LOCATED NO CLOSER THAN 5 FEET FROM SEWER/WATER CONNECTIONS OR AS

AND EXISTING TREES) SHOULD HAVE A CIRCLE OF MULCH NOT LESS THAN 5 FEET DIAMETER.
6.WEED BARRIER FABRIC SHALL BE INSTALLED BY LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR IN ACME WAY AND
CORPORATE DRIVE BUFFER LOCATIONS.
7.LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE OR MAINTAINING THE SITE DURING
CONSTRUCTION IN A MANNER THAT PROMOTES HEALTHY, VIABLE LANDSCAPE AND TURF
MATERIAL.
8.PLANTING SOIL MIX: MIX EXISTING SOIL WITH THE SOIL AMENDMENTS AND FERTILIZERS FOR
HEALTHY,VIABLE PLANT MATERIAL IN THE QUANTITIES RECOMMENDED BY THE SOIL TESTING
LABORATORY, THIRD PARTY RECOGNIZED BY THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE OR AS
OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE.
9.LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY SOIL AMENDMENTS AS RECOMMENDED
BY THE SOIL TESTING LABORATORY.
10.ANY AND ALL SUBSTITUTIONS OF PLANT MATERIAL SHALL BE APPROVED BY LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE. FAILURE IN OBTAINING APPROVAL MAY RESULT IN LIABILITY TO THE
CONTRACTOR.
11.LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR SHALL APPLY PRE AND POST EMERGENT HERBICIDES, FUNGICIDES, OR
OTHER WEED CONTROL METHODS TO KEEP THE SITE FREE OF WEEDS FROM BEGINNING OF
LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR'S CONSTRUCTION TO TIME THE SITE IS TURNED OVER TO OWNER FOR
MAINTENANCE. INSTALL WEED BARRIER FABRIC IN MULCHED AND PLANTED AREAS WITHOUT
PRESERVED EXISTING VEGETATION FOR ADDITIONAL WEED CONTROL. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO
SEEDED OR SODDED AREAS.
12.IRRIGATION, IF PROPOSED, SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED BY A LICENSED IRRIGATION
CONTRACTOR IN THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA.
12.1.AUTOMATED IRRIGATION PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IRRIGATION DESIGN SHALL BE
SUBMITTED TO THE OWNER OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO
PURCHASE OR INSTALLATION OF THE MATERIALS.
13.UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY OWNER OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE, ALL DISTURBED AREAS
TO BE SEEDED WITH PERM. SEED PER EROSION CONTROL PLANS AND/OR NOTES.
14.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE ALL SEEDED OR SODDED AREAS TO ASSURE THAT THE SUBGRADE HAS BEEN RAKED
AND ROLLED TO ACCEPT THE SOD/SEED. FINE GRADE AS NEEDED. LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE ROUGH
GRADE SCHEDULE WITH GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND NOTIFY OWNER OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE OF ANY
DISCREPANCIES IN GRADE OR TIMELINE. ALL SOD/SEED AREAS MUST BE IRRIGATED OR HAND WATERED. ALL SOD
SHALL BE PLACED WITH STAGGERED JOINTS AND NO GAPS BETWEEN SOD JOINTS. SOD SHOULD BE ROLLED AFTER
INSTALLATION. ALL SEEDED AND/OR SODDED AREAS SHOULD PROVIDE A SMOOTH SURFACE FREE OF DIPS AND
UNLEVELED GROUND.
15.LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY OWNER'S SEED OR SOD PREFERENCE PRIOR TO THE CONTRACTOR ORDERING OR
INSTALLING TURF GRASS.
16.ALL VEGETATION PROPOSED WITHIN SIGHT DISTANCE AREAS SHALL NOT INTERFERE WITH SIGHT DISTANCE AT
INTERSECTIONS FROM 30" TO 10'. LIMB TREES OR TRIM EXISTING VEGETATION AS NEEDED WITHIN THE 10' X 70' SIGHT
DISTANCE TRIANGLE.
17.ALL VEGETATION PROPOSED WITHIN SIGHT DISTANCE AREAS SHALL NOT INTERFERE WITH SIGHT DISTANCE AT
INTERSECTIONS FROM 30" TO 10'. LIMB TREES OR TRIM EXISTING VEGETATION AS NEEDED WITHIN THE 10' X 70' SIGHT
DISTANCE TRIANGLE.
18.CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING TRASH, DEBRIS AND EXCESS MATERIALS FROM THE JOB SITE ONCE THE
PROJECT IS COMPLETE. SECURING ANY MATERIALS LEFT ON SITE DURING THE COURSE OF THE PROJECT IS THE
CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY.
19.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REPLACE DEAD AND/OR UNHEALTHY PLANT MATERIAL FOR A PERIOD OF 12 MONTHS OF
ACCEPTANCE OF THE INSTALLED MATERIAL FROM THE OWNER OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE. CONTRACTOR SHALL
REPLACE PLANTS WITHIN 1 MONTH OF NOTIFICATION OF THE NEED FOR PLANT REPLACEMENT.
20.NOTIFY THE OWNER OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE OF ANY DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE PLANS AND SITE CONDITIONS
PRIOR TO ORDERING MATERIALS, PERFORMING WORK, OR INSTALLING MATERIALS.
