In 2021, Cape Fear Collective acquired Driftwood Apartments, a property originally developed by

Brick Capital Community Development Corporatfon Experience
Brick Capital is a HUD approved housing counseling agency, a supportfve housing property
manager, a case management agency, and a developer and builder of affordable housing. We
counsel clients to help them navigate the homebuying process and to provide evictfon and
foreclosure preventfon services. We own and manage supportfve housing for households that
need supportfve services along with the housing that we provide. We provide case management
and rental assistance for chronically homeless households through HUD’s Contfnuum of Care
program. And we build and sell affordable housing for both homeownership and for rentals.
Our experience performing income verificatfons and portiolio assessments comes from our
work with our housing counseling and property management. As a housing counseling agency,
we gather certain income informatfon and documentatfon from our clients in order to help
navigate the home mortgage process. In additfon, HUD requires us to gather certain
demographic informatfon and report to them on the clients we serve and the services we
provided on a quarterly basis. As a property management organizatfon, we gather income
informatfon and documentatfon from our clients to determine their eligibility for certain rental
subsidies. In additfon, we do portiolio assessments once a quarter to provide inspectfons of our
units and to have conversatfons with our tenants to determine what supportfve services they
might need.
