BOC Mailed Notice Packet Dear New Hanover County Citizen: Enclosed please find information from the Planning and Land Use Department concerning a zoning request which may have an effect on your property. This request will be discussed at an upcoming meeting of the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners which you may wish to attend. This information includes guidelines that explain the Board's attempt to conduct efficient and streamlined meetings while assuring that everyone from the public in attendance has an opportunity to express their views. Your assistance is requested in implementing these procedures by making your remarks as concise as possible when you come before us. All speakers are requested to sign up for public hearing items by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. If you are part of a group wishing to voice an opinion, it would be helpful if you could limit the number of speakers to two or three to make comments on behalf of the group. If you wish to utilize PowerPoint for your presentation, please submit the presentation to the Planning and Land Use Department at least 48 hours prior to the meeting date. Public input is beneficial and valuable to the Board, and no effort will be made to discourage this process. Sincerely, Bill Rivenbark Chair NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS DECEMBE R 11 , 20 23 Rezoning Request (Z23-19) – Request by Cindee Wolf with Design Solutions, applicant, to rezone approximately 7.95 acres zoned (CZD) R-10, Residential and R-20, Residential located at 1728 Rockhill Road to (CZD) R-10, Residential for a maximum 24 dwelling units. This petition will be considered by the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners at a public hearing on Monday, December 11, 2023 beginning at 4:00 p.m. or thereafter at the New Hanover County Historic Courthouse, located at 24 North Third Street, Room 301 (corner of Third and Princess Street) in Wilmington, NC. Since this notice is sent only to property owners within 500 feet of the parcel boundary of the proposed project, please discuss it with other residents who may be interested. Anyone wishing to be heard on this matter should appear at the public hearing or arrange to be represented. Typically, a total of fifteen (15) minutes will be allocated for all of those wishing to speak in favor of the request, and another fifteen (15) minutes for those opposed to the request. Following this thirty -minute period, an additional five minutes for each side may be allowed for rebuttal statements. After the hearing, the Board of Commissioners will close the public comment period and vote on the request.
