General Roofing Notes:
(Per Specified Roof, Not all may be Applicable)
1.All work shall be done in accordance with the North Carolina
State Residential Building Code (current adopted edition,
including all amendments) as well as all Local and
Applicable Codes.
2.Provide self-adhered waterproofing membrane under
shingles at all valleys, pitch changes, perimeters (3'-0" back
from face of interior wall), and all areas w/ slope less than
4:12 and as noted on drawings.
3.See framing plans for overbuild areas.
4.Provide 36" wide self-adhered waterproofing membrane
centered on all valley/pitch changes.
5.Closed-cut installation for valley shingles. Lower course to
extend 12" minimum beyond valley centerline. No fasteners
within 6" of valley centerline.
6.Drip edges:
A. 36 gauge or heavier aluminum.
B. Eave: drip edge to be applied to decking and
underlayment over top of drip edge.
C. Rake: drip edge to be applied on top of
underlayment.
7.GC shall assure that all roofing material compatibility is
achieved with no negative effect on any materials; i.e.
contact of dissimilar material (metal roofing abutting gutters,
etc.) will have no negative impact/ effect on either material
or surrounding construction. GC shall inform Owner and
Architect of any and all concerns prior to fabrication/
installation.
8.Provide Flashing Per Section R903 in accordance with the
North Carolina State Residential Building Code (current
adopted edition, including all amendments). Kick-Out
Flashing to be DryFlekt® Kick-Out Diverter Flashing or
Approved Equal.

STEP 8 - Repair cuts/ rips in building wrap as indicated above and as required.
