Reports from 2024 Goal Leads: Committee Agreements (Kirsten & Liz); Communicating with Elected Officials (Tre); Community Engagement (Victoria & Sabrenia); Voting Rights (Sam & Cherry) 4. Fair Housing Month Update (Liz): - City of Wilmington proclamation requested for 4/16 meeting - County proclamation requested for 4/15 meeting - Kirsten working on a one-pager with County Communications Dept. (can this be co-branded with the City of Wilmington?) - C-RAC needs to promote the trainings available online through Fair Housing Project NC - https://www.nchfa.com/fair-housing-training- housing-providers-virtual-0 Who can we get the word out to and how? This is for housing provider, landlords, property managers. Brainstorm a strategy to get the word out. - Liz is also working on setting up a virtual info session for tenants in April. PUBLIC COMMENT None st April 1 NHC Commissioners will be accep?ng a proclama?on for ANNOUNCEMENTS Black Maternal Health – Fawn will send an email to the group to encourage public support for this effort April 15 NHC Commissioners will review a resolu?on to consider NHC an Age Friendly Community – Fawn will send an email to the group for more informa?on Linda reminded the group about the Naviga?ng ADHD panel on April 11 at DHHS at 6:30 ADJOURNMENT The mee?ng adjourned at 6:3 NEXT MEETING April 23 at 5:30 PM MINUTES VOTES ACTIONS What by whom  Mary Vigue updated the group on the City DEI None Goal leads will be prepared to report position. Demographics are changing in NHC. Notably, the proportion of African American residents is declining due to multiple factors related to hurricane displacement, COVID, death rates, and birth rates. NHC will do continued data analysis to understand these demographic trends. 51 languages are spoken in NHC. There is a new Community Resource Portal on the County website to find resources related to economic, social, physical, and mental wellbeing.  Kirsten reported on the meeting agreements work – new agenda format, Goal Leads report at subsequent meetings – and shared the efforts to publish Fair Housing information electronically.  Sabrenia shared her ideas related to engagement. She will work with Linda to think about the website and other information strategies. This conversation led to a wide ranging discussion about inclusion and exclusion in New Hanover County.  Tre reported on the contacts he is making related to promoting the work of CRAC. He is looking for more information about the work of CRAC so he can represent the work expertly and effectively.
