NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NEW HANOVER COUNTY PLANNING BOARD

Rezoning Request (Z24-10) – Request by Mattson Wiksell with Hoyt & Berenyi, applicant, on behalf of
Southeastern Freight Lines, INC, property owner, to rezone approximately 3.73 acres of a 4.24-acre parcel zoned
B-2, Regional Business located at 2824 N. 23rd Street to (CZD) AC, Airport Commercial for the use of Motor Freight
Transportation Warehousing to expand the existing Southeastern Freight Lines facility.
This petition will be considered by the New Hanover County Planning Board at a public hearing on Thursday, June
6, 2024 beginning at 5:00 p.m. or thereafter at the New Hanover County Historic Courthouse, located at 24 North
Third Street, Room 301 (corner of Third and Princess Street) in Wilmington, NC.
Since this notice is sent only to property owners within 500 feet of the parcel boundary of the proposed project,
please discuss it with other residents who may be interested. Anyone wishing to be heard on this matter should
appear at the public hearing or arrange to be represented.
Typically, a total of fifteen (15) minutes will be allocated for all of those wishing to speak in favor of the request,
and another fifteen (15) minutes for those opposed to the request. Following this thirty -minute period, an
additional five minutes for each side may be allowed for rebuttal statements. After the hearing, the Planning
Board will close the public comment period and vote on the request.
For the upcoming Planning Board meeting, individuals can submit public comments in advance to
https://www.nhcgov.com/1105/Public-Comment-Form by Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. Written comments
will be provided to the board and board chair will acknowledge receipt during the public hearing or submit
comments into the record during the public hearing and/or public comment period.
