The project focuses on offering rental subsidies and support services to essential workers, such as teachers, healthcare workers, and public safety personnel, who struggle with the high cost of living in the area. • Number of Units/Households Assisted: 72 units (ongoing) • Project Year: 2023 (ongoing) • Location: Various locations within New Hanover County, North Carolina 2. Project Title: Castle Hayne Workforce Housing Development • Description: The Castle Hayne Workforce Housing Development is a planned 124-unit housing project already zoned in Castle Hayne. This development aims to provide affordable, energy-efficient housing for workforce families. The project will include amenities and green spaces to enhance the quality of life for residents, making it an attractive option for essential workers in the area. • Number of Units/Households Assisted: 124 units (planned) • Project Year: 2025-2026 (planned start) • Location: Castle Hayne, New Hanover County, North Carolina 3. Project Title: Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP) Program • Description: Since 2021, New Hope CDC has been working with the Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP) program to provide comprehensive housing support to over 3,500 households in Onslow and New Hanover counties. The program offers rental assistance, financial counseling, and other supportive services to help families achieve housing stability and improve their overall well-being. • Number of Units/Households Assisted: Over 3,500 households • Project Year: 2021 (ongoing) • Location: Onslow and New Hanover Counties, North Carolina These examples demonstrate New Hope CDC's extensive experience and commitment to providing affordable housing solutions for workforce families.
