our community. For 19 years I’ve
mobilized organizations to address
disparities in the social determinates of
health and wealth, ensure distribution of
emergency food and shelter during
disaster recovery, promote racial
justice, reduce disparity in housing, and
leveraged my knowledge of Low
Income Tax Credits, Real Estate, and
strategic partnerships to build
affordable housing in Wilmington and
across New Hanover County.
In 2021, as Chairman of ECCDI, we
built Cypress Cove, 200 units of
workforce housing; $21M. In 2023,
NBCC is set to build 68 units for Sr.
Citizen; $17M, and rezoning to build
172 units of Family Housing; $30M.
In partnership with the Ministerial
Alliance, creating 2 Mobile day centers
and 2 Night Shelters, with land to create
Permanent Supportive Housing.
I routinely work closely with local law
enforcement, advocate for diversity in
hiring, provide council around race
related shootings/events, and offer
strategies to help reduce gang violence.
