Additionally, due to the county's 911 fund balance at June 30,2024, a budgeted request for additional funding for $482,508 has been determined to be unnecessary and is being removed from the budget. The North Carolina Department of Justice has directed that these funds are not part of the settlement funds covered by the North Carolina Memorandum of Agreement (NCMOA). As such, they must be recorded separately from funds deposited into the Opioid Settlement Special Revenue Fund. Use of these funds is restricted to strategies similar to those covered by the NCMOA and will be used to provide services to persons with Opioid Use Disorders. No county match is required and no new positions are being created. Section 3: Documentation of Adoption This ordinance shall be effective upon its adoption.
