We have reviewed the application and submittal package for the above referenced project and have issued a stormwater
permit. Any deviations from the approved plans will require re-submission. Deviations may be requested but may not be
constructed without the issuance of a revised stormwater permit. All other local, state, and federal permits will be obtained
before starting work. New Hanover County is only validating that the application and supporting documents are complete
and in accordance with the requirements of the ordinance. The approval issued by the County is that the application and
supporting documents are complete and in accordance with the requirements of the ordinance. Nothing whatsoever in the
approval should be construed as or be deemed to create additional duties on the part of the County of New Hanover that
are the responsibilities of the Owner and the design professional.
If there is a need for a change in ownership, an “Ownership Change Form” must be submitted and a fee of $100.00 will be
required. Please be advised, if the land disturbance exceeds one acre, the project will need a Sedimentation & Erosion
Control Permit prior to the disturbance.
Please note:
1. The permit holder shall arrange for adequate construction observation by a design professional who shall, upon project
completion, certify upon completion of the construction required by the stormwater permit, the design professional’s
certification must be delivered to the County. The County may visit the project and observe the progress of the work.
However, nothing whatsoever in the visit and observation of the project should be construed as or be deemed to create
additional duties on the part of the County of New Hanover that are the responsibilities of the Permit Holder and the Design
Professional.
2. The County shall not allow final plats to be recorded and certificates of occupancies to be issued for and project(s) until
the County has accepted the construction completion certification, or until a surety in the form and amount acceptable to
the County has been posted by the Permit Holder. Certificates of occupancies cannot be issued until temporary and/or
permanent drainage facilities have been installed and have been certified as being sufficient to protect the proposed
improvements by the Design Professional.
3. See Conditions of Approval document as applicable.
