Subject: Commercial Site Plan Approval — ILM Crowne Plaza Hotel
The commercial site plan for the commercial building has been approved. The approved commercial
site plan consists of the construction of a hotel, reserved parking and landscaping, and associated
utilities located on a 4.69-acre portion of the 1,338.95-acre tract (PID R04200-001-025-000)
located at 1724 Gardner Drive. Enclosed is the approved site plan. Also enclosed within the packet
is variance case BOA-966, adopted on May 4, 2022, which grants a variance of 65' from the 35'
maximum height allowance of the New Hanover County Unified Development Ordinance, contingent
of the Federal Aviation Administration approval of the height of the structure.
This approval is valid for two years unless a building permit or zoning compliance approval
authorizing the approved development is obtained.
Please note the project may be subject to additional regulations of the County's development
ordinances, including, but not limited to, those referenced in the comments dated May 18, 2022, and
as revised. In addition, this approval does not relieve the applicant from any law, regulation, or
requirement of any other government or regulatory agency.
