Re: Whiskey Branch Tree Updated Tree Removal Permit
WHISKEY BRANCH – APARTMENTS AND TOWNHOMES
Wilmington, North Carolina
BMG Project No.: 2023047.00
Dear Mr. Ferrell:
Becker Morgan Group is submitting an updated tree removal permit pursuant to the permit
submitted on 9/28/2021 by Paramounte Engineering on behalf of our client for the overall Whiskey
Branch Site in Wilmington North Carolina. The following documents are provided for your use in
support of the submission:
One (1) copy of Tree Removal Permit Application
One (1) copy of Tree Removal Permit Fee $45.00 (paid online)
One (1) copy of Updated Tree Removal Plans
Finally, we offer the following explanation for the updates to the plans:
Mitigation for the proposed Whiskey Branch Development has been updated for the removal of
additional trees, and to pull credit from the existing trees to remain. The original tree removal permit
was approved on September 28, 2021, and updated calculations have been provided on sheet L-1.4.
We have gone through the survey and re-calculated all the trees on the plan and found some errors
in the original plan. The updated plan shown includes all the trees to be removed on the previous
permit as well as additional trees needing to be removed. The new survey and mitigation
calculations shown on the latest plans show no specimen trees and 658 inches of significant trees
to be removed. The new mitigation required sum up to 1,316 inches. Using the mitigation
spreadsheet provided by the County, the trees remain offset this mitigation. The number of
documented native inches to be retained sum up to 3,738 which provides 5,457 inches in credit as
well as 100 inches of non-native trees to be retained summing up to 5,557 inches to be retained.
The remaining credit for mitigation is -4,241. In summary, the number of trees remaining offset the
number of significant and specimen trees to be removed so no mitigation costs or replanting will be
required.
If you have any questions or need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
BECKER MORGAN GROUP, INC.
