HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-23-24 BOER MINUTESThe 2024 New Hanover County Special Board of Equalization and Review met on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina. The purpose of the meeting was to convene the 2024 Special Board of Equalization & Review. Chairman Hector Ingram called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Members present: Hector Ingram (Chair) Brad White, Chris Stewart, Mike Musselwhite, Fred Gainey, Clayton Hamerski, Jason Colclough and Ida Smith. Staff present: Asst. Tax Administrator Chris Boney, Asst. Tax Administrator Scott Saunders, Appraisal Manager Bob Kovar, Appraisers Bill Jones, Chris Horn, Eileen Haley and Jamaica Lemons, and Fiscal Support Specialist Michelle Martin. Motion #1: Convene. Motion to convene the 2024 Special Board of Equalization and Review: Motion made by Brad White. Second to motion was made by Fred Gainey. Motion Carries: 8 in favor/0 opposed. Motion #2: Co-Chair. Motion to select Co-Chair of the 2024 Special Board of Equalization and Review: Motion made by Brad White to select Mike Musselwhite as Co-Chair. Second to motion was made by Fred Gainey. Motion Carries: 8 in favor/0 opposed. Motion #3: Motion to Approve Code of Conduct. Chair Hector Ingram requests motion to approve Code of Conduct for 2024 Special Board of Equalization and Review. Motion made by Brad White. Second to motion was made by Clayton Hamerski Motion Carries: 8 in favor/0 opposed. Motion #4: Motion to approve Rules of Procedure. Motion made by Fred Gainey. Second to motion was made by Ida Smith. Motion Carries: 8 in favor/0 opposed. Motion #5: Recess. Motion to recess the April 23, 2024, Special Board of Equalization and Review: Motion made by Brad White. Second to motion was made Chris Stewart. Motion Carries: 8 in favor/0 opposed. The 2024 Special Board of Equalization and Review recessed at 11:15am and will remain in recess until 9:00am May 14, 2024. Respectfully submitted.
