Wilmington, North Carolina. The purpose of the meeting was to convene the 2023 Special Board of Equalization & Review.
Chairman Clayton Hamerski called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Members present:
Clayton Hamerski (Chair) Fred Gainey (Co-Chair), Gloria Green, Chris Stewart, Mike Musselwhite, John Weaver, Hector Ingram, and Brad White.
Staff present:
Tax Administrator Allison Snell, Asst. Tax Administrator Chris Boney, Appraisal Manager Bob Kovar, Fiscal Support Specialist Michelle Martin, Appraisers Jamaica Lemons, Bill Jones, Eileen
Haley and Chris Horn.
Motion #1: Approval of Rules of Conduct.
Motion to approve the Rules of Conduct:
Motion made by Hector Ingram
Second to motion was made by Co-Chair Fred Gainey
Motion Carries: 8 in favor/0 opposed
Motion #2: Approval of Rules of Procedure.
Motion to approve Rules of Procedure:
Motion made by Hector Ingram to approve and adopt similar language to Wake County’s definition of Good Cause pertaining to late exemption applications.
Second to motion was made by Chris Stewart
Motion Carries: 8 in favor/0 opposed
Motion #3: Adjourn.
Motion to adjourn the 2023 Special Board of Equalization and Review @ 5:00 p.m.:
Motion made by Brad White
Second to motion was made by Chris Stewart
Motion Carries: 8 in favor/0 opposed
The 2023 Special Board of Equalization and Review officially adjourned at 5:00 p.m. and will remain in recess until the next scheduled meeting.
