Home My WebLink About05-10-2016 BOER MEETINGASSEMBLY The 2016 New Hanover County Board of Equalization and Review met on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in the Lucille Harrell Conference Room of the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina. The purpose of the meeting was to hear appeals by property owners regarding their 2016 tax value assessments. Members present for the session were: Robert Glasgow (Chairman), Nancy Pritchett, Campbell Dodd, James Brumit and Paul Magnabosco. Staff members present were: Tax Administrator Roger Kelley, Assistant Tax Administrator Scott Saunders, Appraisal Supervisor James Paulk, and Cindy Shoaf notary, Appraisers Steve Walker, Eric Cole, Jim Hardin, Randy Kahl and Appraisal Administrative Support Technician Juanita Wallace. Chairman Robert Glasgow called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m. AGENDA ITEM # 1: Approval of Minutes Minutes from all prior meetings had been approved. AGENDA ITEM # 2: Old Business No old business was discussed. James Brumit moved & seconded by Chairman Robert Glasgow to excuse Charles Davis & Hector Ingram from today’s meeting, the motion carried 5 to 0. AGENDA ITEM # 3: Administration of the Oath of Office James Brumit & Campbell Dodd were sworn in for the Oath of Office by Cindy Shoaf. AGENDA ITEM # 4: Tax Appeal Presentations 9:00 AM Session The Board heard appeal presentations from the following individuals regarding the 2016 tax assessment of real property. Each appellant was informed that the Board would make decisions following the hearings and they would be notified by mail of the Board’s decision in ten days.
