Director’s Report
The County Commissioners approved a tax rate of 30.6 cents per $100 of assessed value. Department
heads will meet with NHC Budget staff next week to determine how the budget will impact their
services. The Sheriff’s dept., Senior Resource Center, Veterans Services and 911 are not included in the
budget cuts.
The lower tax rate will result in reduction to services and staff throughout the county. There will be
approximately 100 positions eliminated countywide, but the impact to the library has not yet been
determined. We do know that we requested 13 positions for Northchase, but will only have 9 positions
for that library. There will be impacts on library services and programs, but those have not yet been
determined. The board will be notified when decisions have been made. Potential Funding from grants
and fundraising was discussed by the board.
Project Grace
• Exterior rock walls and landscaping are being installed.
• The move will take place in August/September while the parking deck is closed for repairs.
• We will open to the public in early October.
Northchase
• The January/February 2026 opening will be pushed back a couple of months.
