The Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) is a reoccurring grant awarded to the SRC each year and was included in the FY26 budget. The increase is $53,551 and will allow for approximately 637 additional transportation trips, 50 additional congregate meals, and 7,600 additional home health meals. There is no county match required. BA 26-006 budgets an increase in a grant to the Senior Resource Center (SRC). Title III-E — Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) is a reoccurring grant awarded to the SRC each year and was included in the FY26 budget. The increase is $500. These funds will enhance general SRC operations and class offerings. There is no county match required. BA 26-007 budgets an increase in a grant to the Senior Resource Center (SRC). Title III-D — Evidence -Based Health Promotion (EBHP) is a reoccurring grant awarded to the SRC each year and was included in the FY26 budget. The increase is $1,116. These funds will expand evidence -based health promotion classes and education, and increased caregiver education and respite support. There is no county match required. Section 3: Documentation of Adoption This ordinance shall be effective upon its adoption. The Schools have $4,007,157 remaining of FY25 budgeted capital. This relates to the Phase 2 renovations for New Hanover High School that totaled $6,425,394. The Schools also have $2,760,322 of budgeted capital from the two prior fiscal years remaining, bringing their total roll to $6,767,479. CFCC has $1,891,040 remaining of their FY25 budgeted capital of $1,920,000. This relates primarily to roof repairs that are currently in process. CFCC also has $249,836 remaining fromt the prior two years, bringing their total to $2,140,876. Section 3: Documentation of Adoption This ordinance shall be effective upon its adoption. That was one-third of the estimated total cost of the project of $690,000, which was split equally with the Schools and the City of Wilmington. The project was completed underbudget in FY25 at a cost to the County of $161,837. The Legion Stadium Committee has asked that the County re -budget a total of $39,338 of the realized savings for a handrails project ($17,188) and a facilities study for Legion Stadium ($22,150), which would include a review and plan for the fields, buildings and other improvements. These amounts are one-third of the total projected cost, with the same split with the Schools and the City of Wilmington. Crowel ; .lerk to the Board Exhkit B0U1(,yQL_1 Page _A7-_;A__ NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ONE HUNDRED SIX (106) RIFLES WITH TRADE INS WHEREAS New Hanover County Sheriffs Office issued a solicitation to purchase one hundred six (106) new rifles; and WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office currently owns one hundred forty-one (141) rifles which they would like to trade in as part of the purchase of the rifles; and WHEREAS, NCGS 143-129.7 allowed the county to include in the specifications for the purchase of the rifles an opportunity for bidders to purchase as "trade-in" the one hundred forty-one used rifles; and WHEREAS, Lawmen's Distribution LLC, the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, submitted a cost of $124,692 for the purchase of the new rifles, less $43,146 for trade in value for a net cost of $81,546; and WHEREAS, funds to cover the net cost of $81,546 are available in FY 2026 budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners that the award of contract to Lawmen's Distribution LLC, for the purchase of one hundred six rifles (106) and the sale of one hundred forty-one (141) rifles is approved. Approval is given for the net cost of $81,546 for the purchase of the new rifles. County staff are directed to process any required documents to complete the transaction.
