The Parks Conservancy Board held its regular meeting on Tuesday, December 18, 2017 at 5:30pm in Conference Room 119, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, NC.
Present: Eric Blaesing (presiding), Anne Murray, Tori Jones, Justin Gibson, Jessica Wilson and Commissioner Rob Zapple.
Absent: Faye Brock, Janeth Dill, Cindy Kauth, Richard Lawson, Comer Lyons, Paul Smith and Jeremy Wilson.
Guest. Michelle Fogle.
Staff: Tara Duckworth, Tanya Gurganious, Andy Johnson and Jodi Rich.
WELCOME AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Eric Blaesing who welcomed those in attendance. There was not a quorum so the October minutes were not approved.
1. Treasurer’s Report. Janine Powell reported that after paying for the t-shirts for the Food Truck Rodeo, the ending balance was $18,774
2. Director’s Report. Tara Duckworth reported that the Northern Regional Park playground upgrade has been completed. Staff is also spreading the word on social media re: Ogden Park’s
playground which is getting a upgrades and is currently closed.
Rodeo Recap. Eric Blaesing shared that thus far $659 has been received from food truck vendors. He plans to send out another notice to the vendors reminding them to send in their 10%.
Eric also asked about the date for the Spring Food Truck Rodeo which will be held at Ogden Park. After some discussion, it was tentatively scheduled April 29th.
Coastal Challenge Update. Michelle Fogle provided an update. She shared that six instructors have been secured thus far with the possibility of having 2 more. The cost to participate
will be $20 for adults and $10 for youth or $30 for a family. The Instructors she has secured are all self-insured so there will not be a lot of costs involved. Tori will put together
a sheet with instructors, hours and timeslots to share with the board at the January meeting. She will also send out an email regarding t-shirt concepts. The Coastal Challenge will
be held at Hugh MacRae Park on Saturday, February 24th beginning at 8am.
Other Business. Jodi Rich shared that additional trash mob events will be held next year. The next one is scheduled for Saturday, January 13th.
Next Meeting Date. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 16th.

MOTION: MOVED; SECONDED by, that the meeting be adjourned. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
The meeting adjourned at 6:14pm.
