NEW HANOVER COUNTY TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
January 21, 2022
PRESENT: Jason Bryant – Chairman
Kim Hufham – President/CEO
Lisa Wurtzbacher – NHC Chief Finance Officer

Board Chairman Jason Bryant called the Executive Committee Meeting to order at
2:30 via WebEx conference call.
ITEM I: APPROVAL OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MINUTES: - Jason
Bryant

unanimously accepted to approve the October 21, 2021, Executive
Committee minutes.\]
ITEM II: BUDGET AMENDMENT DISCUSSION - Kim Hufham
The NHC TDA board tasked the staff to utilize the fund balance for
Special initiatives. The staff has been working on an out of state
State marketing awareness campaign as identified by the New
Audience Research Study. The funds totaling $700,000.
Wrightsville Beach $125,000
Carolina Beach $125,000
Kure Beach $ 75,000
District U $125,000
NHC TDA $250,000
Due to the pandemic, Karla Thompson has indicated that the
replacement of equipment schedule has fallen behind. It is requested
that $15,000 be approved for the replacement of computers.

ITEM III: STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE- Kim Hufham
Don Anderson, Destination Consultancy Group, LLC, will be
presenting a three-year review process with the NHC TDA Board of
the Strategic Destination Plan. He will outline the three-year “rolling
roadmap” to meet top challenges and update areas as needed.
