Attendees: Harvin Quidas, Regional Ombudsman, Cheryl Mote, Adult Home
Specialist, Regina Anderson, Adult Home Specialist, Ginger Page, Carolyn Hooker,
Mary Busbee, Deborah Maxwell,Janet Lock'ear, and Tom Jennings
Absent: Dolly Pollock
Meeting was called to order by Ginger Page.
Members discussed the levels of care present in facilities and their relationship to
the rights of the residents living in the facilities with the adult home specialist.
Members discussed ways to visit all 24 adult care homes with a limited number of
volunteers and decided that various members of the group would float between the
two groups to assure that three members of a to were available for visits.
Harvin Quidas presented information to the group on the role of Medication Aides
in Long Term Care.
CAC Facility Reports of facility visits were given.
• Concern over the presence of restrictive devices in two facilities were
conveyed to the Adult Home Specailist
• Issues noted in CAC Visitation Reports included need for furniture
replacement,need for linen and paper products,long waits for meal service,
and lack of cleanliness.
S Facility Administrators were responsive to addressing the issues.
• Residents Rights were posted in all facilities visited
The next meeting date will be 5 April 2006 at 9:30 am.
Tentative dates for facility visitations are:
Group I November 8 and 15
Group II—May19 and 31
