Welcome,
Introductions & Agenda Review
Wanda Marino presided over this session and called the meeting to order at 3:15pm
In attendance: Kathy Stoute, Wanda Marino, William Trant, Karen
Beatty, Kenneth Nelson and Robert Speight. Mrs. Marino reviewed the minutes of the last session and called a motion to accept them as read or with any modifications to be made. Bob
Speight made a motion to accept the minutes as read or with any modifications to be made. The motion was properly seconded by William Trant. Vote carried to approve the minutes.

Wanda Marino presented information on the activities that will be conducted during Child Abuse Prevention Month. Specifically, the Flower Launch scheduled for 25 April
2012 at the Henrietta.
Director’s Report- Kathy Stoute presented the YES Statistics Update (See Attachment)

Director’s acknowledgement
of her receipt of the 2012 UNCW Razor Walker Award in the category of Public Service
Director’s acknowledgement of Wanda Marino’s excellent YES annual presentation to the NHC Board of
Commissioners.
Youth Empowerment Services will be consolidated with the Pretrial Release and Drug Treatment Court Programs beginning FY 2012 - 2013
New Business We will discuss the
future of the Advisory Committee at the next advisory Committee Meeting
Old Business - There was no old business to discuss
Member Comments/News – Zachery Mitcham suggested
that the Advisory Committee attend the UNCW Watson School of Education Razor Walker Awards in honor of Kathy Stoute who will be awarded this year’s award in the category of Public Service.
The event will be held at the Burney Center on UNCW’s Campus on Monday, 16 April 2012 at 6:30 pm. Dress is Business Attire.
