We don’t have any final answers yet.  All NHPLC card holders are now able to access Freegal through the Library’s website. This is a free downloadable music site. The project will allow children to use more technology (white boards and ipads) to create their own stories in visual and/or written form.  The Library has had many successful children’s programs. We plan to expand our focus on ages -5 to promote “Every Child Ready to Read”. COMMITTEE REPORTS Courtyard Park The Library will be partnering with the Parks Dept. to make the park a Library Park. The concept will make the Park a part of the Library and access to the park will be through the Library. The Parks Committee will meet to decide on how to move forward on this project. Mary Hatcher asked the committee to prepare to make their presentation at the April Board Meeting. LAB Minutes 02 21 2013 Page 3 OLD BUSINESS Library Day Mary Hatcher recommended that the board not meet on March 21st since many of the board members will be attending Library Day in Raleigh on March 26th. Myrtle Grove Library Update Mary Hatcher shared an article with the board regarding the bookless library in Texas. Since we are running out of space in the existing location, we need to look at ways to use technology to reduce book space. A decision needs to be made on the future of Myrtle Grove. This has been a lingering project for too long. The Myrtle Grove Committee will meet at the Myrtle Grove Branch on March 19th at 2:00 p.m. to view and tour the facility. NEW BUSINESS County Citizen’s Survey Harry Tuchmayer distributed copies of the County Citizen’s Survey results and discussed them in detail. The Library ranked very high in the results. Customer Services has been a big push for the County. They will set benchmarks for departments to ensure that goals are met. The Library will be conducting their next Quarterly Customer Survey in April. This is something that we do every year to ensure that we are meeting our patron’s needs. REMINDERS  The board will not meet in March.  The MG Committee will meet on MG at 2pm on March 19th to view the facility.
