CulturalCompetency/ImplicitBias MelanienotedthesubcommitteewasinterestedinlearningmoreaboutandworkingwithNHRMC, JosephConwaytoexploreculturalcompetencyeducationandotherrelatedeffortstofosterequitable accesstoqualityhealthcare.MelaniewillbereachingouttoMr.Conway.Continuingthereport,the subcommitteesuggestedtheCRACrecommendtotheCityofWilmingtonandNHCountyprovideImplicit Bias/CulturalCompetencyTrainingforalldepartments.LorimadeamotiontheCRACrecommendthe CityofWilmingtonandNHCprovideImplicitBias/CulturalCompetencyTrainingforalldepartments. Jensecondedandthemotioncarried.TherecommendationwillbepresentedtotheCityCounciland NHCviaalettertotheCityandCountyManagers.JensuggestedallCRACmembersparticipateinCultural Competencytrainingiftheyhavenotyethadanopportunitytodoso. ThecommitteediscussedthedisseminationofthesurveyandtheneedforallCRACmemberstoidentify theirnetworksandcirclesofinfluencetohelpgetthesurveyout.LoriintroducedDr.KristinDeVall,UNCW , SSARCandCaitlynHeaneystudent.Dr.DeVallexplainedthemethodstobeusedtodistributethesurvey includingconductingarandomsamplesurveybyphonethatisstaticallyvalidwitha95%confidencerate.
