REGULAR MEETING JUNE 6, 2018
ASSEMBLY
The Parks Advisory Board held its regular meeting on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 8:00am in
Conference Room 119, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington NC.
Present:
Linda Reece (presiding), Co
and Nikki Zeldin.
Excused:
Shawn Spencer.
Guest:
Steve Morrissey, Cape Fear Pickle Ball Club.
WELCOME AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Linda Reece who welcomed everyone and asked if there were
any corrections to the minutes of the May 2, 2018 meeting. There were no changes or corrections
noted at the following motion was presented:

Tara shared some information on upcoming events (trash mob,

Airlie concert schedule) along with the June newsletter. She added that all other projects mentioned
last month are still moving along. Provided the contractor with a punch list for the Middle Sound
Project. Working on lots of stormwater issues. The Clean Water Management Trust Fund grant has
been received for Airlie Gardens. This grant will be matched by the Airlie Gardens Foundation.
Ultimately, the lake at Airlie will have to be dredged due to the accumulation of silt. There is also a
stormwater project taking place at the Arboretum. Andy shared that the spring season for athletics
just finished up. Additionally, the soccer and lacrosse tournaments have also finished for the
season. The work on the skate park will commence in July; working on the contract right now.

Linda shared that it is the last meeting for Nikki and Rebecca. She thanked

Due to the July 4 holiday, there will be no meeting next month. The next meeting will take place
