POSTPONED REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF BOARD OF HEALTH
HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD
AUGUST 18, 1938
Present: Chairman Addison Hewlett, Mayor Thos. E. Cooper,
Mr. H. M. Roland, Dr. J. C. Wessell, and Dr. B. R. Morrison.
Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.
Resolutions of regret at the death of Dr. H. L. Keith, written
by Mr. Roland, were adopted by the Board.
Dr. B. R. Morrison was presented as the denta member of the Board
to succeed the late Dr. H. L. Keith - having been elected by the ex-
officio members prior to the Board meeting.
After a brief discussion of the selection of an office clerk, it
was moved by Mayor Cooper, seconded by Mr. Roland, that Mrs. Margaret Myers
be elected. Carried.
The problem of industrial concerns doing their own plumbing with
a plumber not holding a contractors license, was discussed but no official
action taken.
The Health Officer presented the monthly reports of the different
departments.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned.

RESOLUTION
An unexpected call has come t one of our most valualbe and beloved citizens.
Dr. H. L. Keith was an outstanding example of those qualities which make a man
admired and beloved by those with whom he worked.
As a member of the Board of Health, he was recognized for his sincerity; interest
in his fellow man; his ability to see all angles to a controversy, and an absolute fairness
in all of his dealings.
Be it Resolved by the Board of Health of New Hanover County, that in the death
of Dr. H. L. Keith, New Hanover County lost one of its most valuable citizens, and
that they express to his loved ones and friends their admiration and respect for him as a fellow
member of the Board of Health and as a personal friend; and be it further,
