07/11/1940 87 1 REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING, BOARD OF HEALTH HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD JULY 11, 1940 Present: Chairman Addison Hewlett, Mayor Thos. E. Cooper, Mr. H. M. Roland, Dr. J. C. Wessell, Dr. W. Houston Moore, and Dr. B. R. Morrison. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. The Health Officer presented the monthly reports. .-, Mr. J. M. Patten appeared before the Board to ask for certain rulings and interpretations regarding the plumbing regulations. At the request of Mr. Patten and the Health Officer, the City and County Attorneys were present to advise on any legal interpretation of the points raised by Mr. Patten. Mr. Patten's main interest was whether or not the local ordinance requiring lead drum traps rather than permitting cast iron drum traps was enforceable. He also raised the question as to whether or not an individual could do his own plumbing. After a general discussion of these points, it was moved by Dr. Wessell, seconded by Dr. Morrison, that the plumbing ordinance remain as at present and that the same be enforced in an cases. Carried. Dr. Moore reported to the Board that he had had complaints rei'"arding the w~ that garbage is being handled at the city stables. It was moved by Dr. Moore, seconded by Dr. Wessell, that the Health Officer be instructed to write Mr. Wade, Conmissioner of Public Works, regarding thlls problem.
