the- USPHS Milk Ordinance and Code. Carried.

uinutes of the last meetinp were read and
approved.
The Health Officer presented the monthly
reports.
The Health Officer presented the Board a re-
quest from the army officers that they be permitted to use
pit privies for one or two week ends at the recreation
center in the Northeast part of the town (ball park,
south of Rt. #421 and between the two over-passes).
After a brief discussion the Board declined to permit the
use of pit privies in tnis area.
After the Health Officer explained that under
the direction of the State Board of Health, nearly all
mosquito control work in New Hanover, Pender, and Onslow
counties is being done out of defense area funds and
under the direct supervision of Mr. G. T. Morgan; it was
moved by Dr. Wessell and seconded by Dr. Morrison that
the Health Department supplement Mr. Morgan's sal&ry $50
per month and that such action be riven to both newspapers
in writing.
Following the death of J. Allen Taylor, Mr.
Hewlett, chairman of the Board of Health, was authorized
to countersign the mosquito commission checks.

The Board of Health approved the budget as pre-
sented by the Health Officer with the exception ofa)60
increase under the item for sanitary inspectors.
There being no further business, the Board
adjourned.
