07/08/1943 165 .... L REGUkR NONTHLY h'EETING EO<\RD OF HEALTH HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD JULY 8, 1943 Present: Mr. Hewlett, l1ayor Cameron, Dr. J. C. Wessell, Dr. ~oore, Dr. IJorrison and IJr. Roland. The minutes of thelast i118etinc Vlere read and approved. The Health Officer presented the monthly reports. h~. J. A. Loughlin, City Engineer, appeared before the Board with the request that the Health Department take over the problem of operating the tractor and bulldozier at the City dump. He stated that he thought we could get a small tractor for ~50.00 per day or a large tractor for J75.00 per day and that the trash dwnp could be leveled and covered in one or two days, the Board of Health to pay for same out of the incinerator appropriation. It Has understood that when this VI&S done they would change the dumping ground to Loves Grove, City property, without any tractor service there. InlClediately following this action the Board of Health Vias authorized by the Clty and County representatives to\,US~ a tractor and bulldozier pendinc ofricial action on the part ()jf the joint appropriating bodies, , , 't. Dr. Wessell reported to e Board that the budget committee, ap- pointed with power to aC , had adopted a budget allowin" $20.00 per person per month raise for the department personnel. Mayor Cameron discussed the need of more rigid enforcement of the sanitation of fish markets.
