REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING BOARD OF HEALTH
HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD

Present: Mr. Addison Hewlett, Chairman, Dr. J. C. Wessell, Mr.
H. M. Roland, Dr. W. Houston Moore, Dr. James H. Smith.
The minutes of the last Jneeting were read and approved.
The Healtb Officer presented the monthly reports.
The Health Officer asked the Board members whether they would
advise the Attorney handling the collections of past due rat
proofing accounts to settle on a compromise basis or take the
cases to court. The Board members felt that it would not be fair
to the merchants who had paid their bills in full to settle other
bills at a sizeable discount. It was moved by Dr. Wessell, seconded
by Mr. Roland, that the attorney handling the delinquent accounts
be instructed to go to court in an effort to collect the full account.
Carried.
After discusing the difficulty of wording an ordinance prohibiting
major repairs to outdoor water flush toilets, the Health Officer was
instructed to request the County and City Attorneys to word such an
ordinance whereby outdoor water flush toilets needing very extensive
repairs be condemned and replaced by toilets in the house or on the
back porch.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
