REGULtR MONTHLY MEETING BOARD OF HEALTH
HELD IN OFFICE OF BOA.~D
JUNE 12, 1947
Present: Mr. Addison Hewlett, Chairman, Mayor E. L. White, Dr. J. C.
Wessell, Dr. W. Houston Moore and Dr. James H. Smith.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The Health Officer presented the monthly reports.
The Board of Health adopted an Ordinance requiring in the case of
new construction that the floors in toilet rooms in public eating
places be of concrete, tile or some other impervious material graded
to a floor drain.
Dr. Wessell commented on the City Council's adoption of an anti-noise
ordinance after which it was moved by Dr. Wessell, seconded by Dr.
Moore, that the Health Officer write the City Councilmen expressing
the Board of Health's endorsement of the City anti-noise ordinance
and expressing themselves as being of the opinion that such an ordinance
waS very important from a health standpoint. Carried.

After a brief discussion of toilet facilities for circuses, carnivals,
etc., it was moved by Dr. Wessell, seconded by Dr. Moore, that all
circuses, carnivals, etc. showing within the City limits be required
to have ample water-flush toilet facilities and that such circuses,
carnivals, etc. showing ih rural Hanover provide facilities approved
by the Health Department in each case. Carried. (The Health Officer
was instructed to ask the City and County Attorneys to word such and
ordinance so as the wording would take care of all the legal aspects).

After a brief discussion of the budget proposed by the Health Officer
for the 1947-1948 fiscal year, the Board accepted the proposed budget
subject to the action of the City and County appropriating authorities.
