Present: Dr. James M. Hall, Jr., Chairman; Mr. E. S. Capps, Mayor; Dr. J. C.
Knox, Dr. B. Bryant Hare, Jr., and Dr. James H. Smith.
On motion by Dr. Knox, seconded by Dr. Hare, the minutes of the last meeting
were approved without reading, copies having been sent to the Board members.
Carried.
Chairman Hall informed the Board that the Health Director had asked to be
excused from the meeting today.
Chairman Hall read a letter from Mr. Charles M. White, Chief Insect & Rodent
Control Section, State Board of Health, in which he stated that the project
application for assistance in the amount of $3.540.60 for mosquito control in
New Hanover County had been approved by his office and forwarded to Major
General Edward F. Griffin, Council of Civil Defense.

Mr. lassiter infonned the Board of a possible problem that might arise if the
Coble Mortuary is built on the corner of Audubon Blvd. and Oleander Drive; that
plans for the establishment drawn by Ballard and McKim had been turned over to
him for his study regarding the disposal of the waste maj;erial from this estab-
lishment. It was pointed out that problems might arise because of the nature
of the waste to be disposed of.

On motion by Dr. Smith, 11r. lassiter was instructed to get written reco!lllllencta-
tions from the State Board of Health and see that they were carried out. Motion
seconded by Mayor Capps and carried.
Motion to adjourn was made by Dr. Smith.
