One item of old business 1'1<18 brought up and discussed; the condition of the building occupied by the health department. After a lengthy discussion, Dr. Smith suggested that >ie i-'lV',stigate the possicility of sGcuring the net< Coast Line building. Notion 1<JaS mac!G by Dr. Smith, secondcc! by Dr. HarG, that the Chairman apppint a committee to investigate the building and to make an evaluation of its suitablenec;s for the health department. Che.irrnan Hall discussed the possibility of askD1G the County CO;;1l1lissioners to put aside, in a sinking fund, $12,000.00 to $15,000.00 annually and ear-marking this Doney for a future construction for the health departl!18nt building under the Hill-Burton program. . . The Hp.alth Director D1formed the Board as a unit that Mr. U:.ssiter plans to retire i11 October. The matter of a replacement for Hr. U:.ssiter >ms discussed at lenGth. The Health Director feels that it is higbly desirable to fill this position Hith a qualified enGineer. The Health Director 1\'E.S instructed by the Board to confer ,lith Hr. J. H. Jarrett, Director division of Sanitary Engineering, State Board of Health, on the availability of a r:lan to fill this position. No action l'lill be taken until the Health Director has had an opportunity to talk with Hr. Jarrett. ....... Chairman Hall r0ad a letter from Plwnbing Inspector, H. NcC. Bidrlle, addressed to the Board conceminc the continual violation of the PlumbD113 Code by Hr. John Calog. 1'hrell-" times recently Hr. Galog has been found guilt"' in Recorder's Court of violating . provision of the lie'" Hanover County Plumbine Code. The Board feels that something nrust be done to stop this continual violation by one man. On motion by Hayor Allsbrook, seconded by Dr. Knox, it I'/aS moved that a letter be sent to Hr. Galog to appear at the next meeting of the Board of IIea,lth to shoH cause why his license to do plumbing in NeH Hanover County should not be revoked. l;ct.ion carl'ied. In the above connection letters are to be sent to the City and County Attorneys asking that they be present at this meeting. . . Chairrr.an Hall brought up the matter of the suit instigated by Mr. Robert E. Scott against l:r. Ceo. \'1. Turner ano. the Consolidated Board of Health as Co-defender, in an automobile accident occuring October 19, 1960. Hr. Lassiter ,,~s asked to check the details regarding our foeging operations at the time of the ac ident. l:r. L'l.ssiter reports as folloIls: "In regard to the accident alleeed to have occurred on October 19, 1961, on !J. C. 132 near 1'linter Pc.rk and caused by the fog from our Dyna-Fog 11B.chine; I really knot< nothing about this accident, and only heard of it a fel" days ago "hen the legal papers came to this department. An inspection of 11r. Long's records indicates that the DYJ1a,-Fog mach:L1es Here not supposel! to be operating at that location on that particular night." Signed: L. I. Boyce MCPhatter, opcraLors 320 of our fOCC;:ll1g Jre.Chi11es, to operate in the Spofford ltills Section on that day. t/hen they returned to the 1'Jarehouse I asked them if they had operated i11 the area as"igned to them and they reported that they had; this report was entered J on T.1Y records of that day. In regard to the accident as claimed by !1r. Robert E. Scott again,,~ ~. Geo. vi.
