01/14/1963 359 ,.... ~ REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING BOARD OF HEALTH HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD January 14, 1963 --- Present: ~Ir. James M. Hall, Jr., Chairman, Dr. James H. Smith, Dr. R. Bryant Hare, Jr., Dr. J. C. Knox, Dr. William H. Wagoner, and Mayor O. O. Allsbrook. On motion by Dr. Smith, seconded by Mayor Allsbrook, the Minutes of the last meeting were approved without reading; copies having been sent to Board Members. Carried. In accordance with State Statutes requiring reorganization on odd years, mo- tion was made by Dr. Wagoner that the Ex-officio members elect Dr. J. C. Knox and Dr. R. Bryant Hare, Jr., Medical Members, and Dr. James H. Smith, Dental Member, of the Consolidated Board of Health for a period of two years. Also that the present staff of the Health Department be reemployed for a two year period. Mayor Allsbrook seconded this motion and carried. ~ motion made by Mayor Allsbrook, the Board approved the confirmed previous ( ~~t~on on the adoption of the amendment of Section 43 of the Plumbing code. "......--- - Mr. Cranford presented bids for a new truck for Insect and Rodent Control. Dr. Smith made a motion that he accept the lowest bid for the truck, which was from Raney Chevrolet Company at a cost of $1,572.24. Mayor Allsbrook seconded this motion and was carried. I Mr. Cranford made a request to increase travel allowance for the two Sanitarians, since they are doing more traveling in the absence of one sanitarian. Dr. Knox made a motion that they earn $10.00 per month more providing they exceed their regular mileage and that this be on a temporary basis. ~ . Dr. Allen reported that he had employed Mrs. Sarah Stram, Psychologist, on a two and one half day per week basis with a salary of $25.u() per day. He stated that he had contacted each Board Member, but would like for this to be made official. Dr. Wagoner made a motion to confirm this employment. tnere was a general discussion in considering an Advisory Board for the Mental Health Center, separate from the Steering Committee. Chairman Hall indicated that a Committee of Dr. Wagoner, Dr. Knox and himself would make a recollllllenda- tion to the Board in the future. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
