03/06/1963 36J REnULAR MON'IHLY MEETING BOARD OF HEAlTH HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD --- March 6, 1963 Present: Chairman, James M. Hall, Jr., Dr. J. C. Knox, Dr. James H. Smith and Dr. R. Bryant Hare, Jr. On motion by Dr. J. C. Knox, seconded by Dr. James H. Smith, the minutes of the January Board Meeting were approved without reading, copies having been sent to the Board Members. Carried. There was no February Board Meeting due to lack of quorum. There was a general discussion on salaries for Mr. Shepard and Mr. Fowler who came to work with the Insect and Rodent Control Section after the death of Hr. I. T. Long. By common consent, the Board agreed that the salary be kept as it is at the present time and that an adjustment be considered upon the recommenda- tion of Dr. Davis. After a general discussion on air conditioning for the Health Department, it was suggested that Dr. Davis get bids and notify Board Members as promptly as possible. ~. Dr. Davis discussed with the Board, the refund on sales tax, since the City of Wilmington turned over a refund for the amount of $60.79. However, the County did not turn over the portion refunded to them for the Health Department. It was suggested that we accept the $60.79 refunded by the City and that Mr. Hall discuss the county refund with the County Auditor. - There was a brief discussion concerning the Advisory Board for the Mental Health Center. Chairman Hall stated that he, Dr. Wagoner, and Dr. Knox had had a meet- ing to discuss this. Also that they would get together again and bring a recommen- dation shortly. Dr. Allen presented to the Board Members a third report on operations of the Mental Health Center. Dr. Allen stated that he has a new full-time Secretary, Mrs. Frances Valentine, and that Mrs. Price would work only part-time in the future. There being no further bUSiness, the meeting adjourned.
