Present:
Dr. J. C. Knox, Dr. James Smith and Chairman, J. ~1. Hall, Jr.
The minutes of the May 6, 1964 meeting were approved by motion of Dr. Knox,
seoonded by Dr. Smith.
An announoement was made of the resignation of Mrs. Betty West, Publio Health
Nursing Supervisor I, who was on leave of absenoe for eduoational purposes and
has joined the Staff of the Sohool of Publio Health in Chapel Hill. It was
also announoed that Mrs. Willora Faulkner would replaoe Mrs. West.
A letter had been reoeived from Mr. Brandon, City Manager, requesting that we
withhold permits from plumbers until they have settled past due aooounts with
the oity for repaving sidewalks that have been torn up for plumbing. By
oommon oonsent it was deoided for Dr. Davis to get all the information oon-
oerning these bills and if at all feasible write these people a letter advising
that they take oare of their obligation to the oity in order that permits will
not be withheld.

The Board authorized Dr. C. B. Davis, Health Direotor, to sign doouments to
give the Consolidated Board of Health of New Hanover County and Wilmington
permission to buy tax free aloohol for use in the laboratory. This was by
motion of Dr. Smith, seoonded by Dr. Knox. Motion oarried.
Permission was granted to have oabinets built in the hallway downstairs to
replaoe the desk if this oan be done out of "I.finor Maintenanoe. II
Announoement was made that the N. C. Heart Assooiation has withdrawn its
support of our Rheumatio Fever Clinio Nurse.
1here was nothing new on the plumbing oode that is being drawn up and aotion
was deferred on requiring Septio Tank Installers to have Performanoe Bonds.
1here being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
