BOARD OF HEALTH

Present: Dr. J. W. Hooper. Chairman, Dr. J. C. Knox, Dr. James Smith,
Dr. William Wagoner. Attorney Bradford L. Tillery
Minutes of the October 13 meeting were approved by motion of Dr. Smith.
seconded by Dr. Wagoner.
City Dump: Attorney Bradford L. Tillery reported that the State Laws require
municipalities to obey Health Department ordinances. He also reported that
local groups are planning to protest the smoke situation at the City Dump.
and that this may help the city to see their responsibility without the Health
Department having to take action. Mr. Tillery suggests that before the Board
of Health takes any action that examination be made as to whether or not it
constitutes a health hazard.

Mobile Home Ordinance: A new Mobile Hoae Ordinance has been drawn up by Doug
Hudson, City-County Planner. This Ordinance will be studied and copies sub-
mitted. with corrections. to each Board Member before the next meeting.

Plumbing: Mr. Tillery reported that he and Mr. Cranford have entered another
suit in a case of faulty plumbing. without a permit. This suit is against
Randolph Corbett and Dan Inman.
Sewerage Bond: The Board adopted the following resolution, with motion made
by Dr. Smith. seconded by Dr. Wagoner.
"The Board of Health would like to go on record as cormnending the
good job done by I-Ir. L. C. LeGwin. along with many others, in the
recent Sewerage Bond Election, and voted unanimously that a letter
of appreciation be written to him."
A general discussion followed concerning the Tuberculosis Control Program.
There were comments on the good job done in this field in finding and follow-
ing up cases of tuberculosis.
Dr. Wagoner brought up the question, "How do we go about finding out how many
Retarded children to plan for in our schools?" After a general discussion it
appeared there was no irmnediate answer to the problem.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
