05/04/1966 42~ ,.,.."", RIDULAR ME:ETniG OF BOARD OF HEALTH HELD m OFF'ICE OF BOARD May 4, 1966 ~ Present: Dr. Joseph W. Hooper, Chairman, Dr. J. C. Knox, Dr. James Smith, Dr. James Tidler, Dr. William Wagoner, Attorney Bradford L. Tillery Minutes of the April meetings were approved by motion of Dr. Wagoner, seconded by Dr. Smith. Trash Dumn: Dr. Smith reported that the committee appointed by the Board to meet with a committee from the City Council concerning the Trash Dump has scheduled a meeting for TueSday, May 10, 1966 in the office of Mr. Brandon, City Manager. Dr. Smith also felt that a representative from the airport should be present for this meeting. Dr. Hooper will ask Mr. John Westbrook to attend this meeting. Drainage Ditch - Berman: Mr. Harry Berman has been in contact with Dr. Hooper concerning the drainage ditch cut some time ago by our dragline near the Lansdowne development. Mr. Berman claims he has followed our instructions and cut ditches from the pond in question to our ditch but that the water has not run off to his satisfaction. Mr. Cranford, Director of Sanitation, and an engineer from the State Board of Health will look into this. "...." Easement Forms for RiMt of Ways: Mr. Tillery reported that Mr. Hines of Hines Construction Company is upset about some trees being cut on his property, and by our dragline being on his property. Mr. Cranford reported that he had talked with Mr. Hines' secretary who told him she was sure that Mr. Hines would be glad to have the ditch cleaned out and if there was any objection she would call him. Also, Joe Farr, employee of the Health Department, had talked with Mr. Hines and showed him the map of the ditch. Mr. Hines claims he had understood that they were just going to clean out the ditch, not cut trees, etc. Mr. Tillery recODDl\ends that in the future we get permission in writing before we go on anyone's land. ~ Budget: After a general discussion of the budget for 1966-67, Dr. Tidler made the motion that we accept the budget as presented and that Dr. Davis appear before the COIIIIIlissioners to defend the increases. Dr. Smith seconded the motion. The motion carried by a 4 to 1 vote. Advisory Board for Nursing Program: Mrs. Willora Faulkner, PH Nursing Supervisor, explained the functions of an advisory board and presented a list of suggested names WI serve on this board. Dr. Wagoner made the motion that the advisory board be composed of one physician, one nurse, one physical therapist and two interested citizens, and that this Board approve the members of the Advisory Board. Dr. Knox seconded the motion. Motion carried. Dr. Davis will present the list of names to the Board within the next few days for approval.
