02/23/1968 4Pf . , . MINUTES OF BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING, February 23, 1968 '"- Present: Dr. J. W. Hooper, Chairman, Dr. J. C. Knox, Dr. James Smith, Dr. William Wagoner, Dr. James Tidler Director of Sanitation Activities: Mr. W. H. Cranford, Director of Sanitation Activities, had been approached by the Cumberland County Health Department regarding employment with their Department. The possibility of raising his salary was discussed, but no positive action was taken. V~. Cranford was asked by Dr. Hooper to talk with this Board before he makes any decision to leave. Attorney for Health Department: Dr. Knox made the motion that the Board contact Attorney James C. Fox to see if he would accept the position as Attorney for the Board and the Department. Dr. Tidler seconded the motion. Motion carried. This position has been vacant since the resignation of }~. Bradford L. Tillery on December 31, 1967. Charges for X-Rays: Dr. Wagoner made the motion that we begin charging $2.00 each for large X-rays instead of the $1.00 fee. Dr. Knox seconded the motion. Motion carried. --- Drugs for TB Patients: Money has been made available through our special Tuberculosis Control Project to buy n~AH and PAS for TB Patients and sus- pects. Welfare buys drugs for the indigent patients. Drugs bought with the project funds can be furnished to anyone, regardless of their ability to payor legal residence (letter from Dr. Berry, 8-23-67). Dr. Tidler made the motion that we go along with this and furnish drugs for these people since this is a preventive measure and a public health problem and that if the patient is able to pay, he buy the drugs at cost.
