MINUTES OF BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING - October 9, 1974
Present: Dr. James Smith, Chairman, Dr. Frank Reynolds, Dr. James TidIer
Dr. R. E. Carter, Mr. Bruce Freeman, Mr. George Chadwick, Mr.
J. R. Reaves, Mrs. Vivian Wright, Attorney James Fox and County
Manager Dan Eller
Absent: Mr. W. K. Whitmire
Minutes of the September meeting were approved by motion of Dr. Reynolds,
seconded by Mrs. Wright.
Septic Tank Ordinance Committee Report: Dr. TidIer, Chairman of the
Committee reported that the committee had not finished its work. They were
still waiting on recommendations from planners, soil conservation people,
etc. Will report at November meeting.
Dental Program: Dr. Knox informed the Board that the salary for a Personal
Care and Family Aide who is already in the overall dental project for New
Hanover County will have to be paid through the Health Department. Money
will be paid through the County by the State. Dr. Reynolds made the motion
that we request the Commissioners to place this item in our budget. Dr.
TidIer seconded the motion - motion carried.
Tour of Building: This meeting was held in the new building at 2029 South
17th Street and immediately following the meeting the board toured the new
building.
