MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING - May 7, 1975
Present: Dr. James Smith, Chairman, Dr. Frank Reynolds, Mr. George
Chadwick, Mr. Bruce Freeman, Mr. R. E. Carter
Absent: Dr. James TidIer, Mrs. Vivian Wright, Mr. W. K. Whitmire
Mr. J. R. Reaves
Minutes of the April meeting were approved as mailed to Board of Health
Members.
Ordinance Governin~ Construction of Wells and Private Water Supply: The
following additions to this ordinance were approved unanimously upon
motion of Dr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Chadwick:
Item 10, Page 2 Minimum Safe Distance - add:
Chemically Poisoned Soil - 100 Feet
Item 23, Page 3 - add:
Pressure Tanks of not les8 than 42 gallon capacity or
a pre-charged diaphragm system sized to deliver the
equivalent or greater discharge that could be obtained
from a properly operating conventional pressure tank
system shall be furnished.
These additions will be properly published and posted.
Capital Outlay - Equipment: Dr. Knox asked the Board to recommend to
the County Commissioners that we be allowed to purchase the following
from existing capital outlay funds:

Lanier Portable Dictating Machines
mosquitos - $487.00

Dr. Reynolds made the motion that the Board of Health make this request
of the Commissioners that Dr. Knox be allowed to purchase the above.
Motion was seconded be Mr. Carter. Motion carried unanimously.
Family Planninltl Mrs. Barbara Johnson, PHN II, in charge of the Family
Planning Program, gave a very informative program concerning the work
that is being carried on in the community in the area of Family Planning.
Members of the Board expressed the opinion that these programs of in-
formation on various programs of the department should be continued
since they give the board members a better insight into the work of the
department and give them opportunity to meet some of the staff.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
