MINUTES OF BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING - January 7, 1976
Present: Dr. James TidIer, Chairman, Dr. Frank Reynolds, Mr.George Chadwick,
Mr. Bruce Freeman, Mr. J. R. Reaves, Mrs. Vivian Wright, Mr. R. E.
Carter, Dr. James E. Furr and County Manager Dan Eller and Attorney
James Fox
Absent: None
Dr. Knox was asked to act as chairman of this meeting until a chairman was
elected.
Minutes of the December meeting were approved as presented.
Chairman of Board: Dr. Knox opened the floor for nominations for chairman.
Mr. Chadwick nominated Dr. TidIer and Mr. Reaves made the motion that the
nominations be closed and that Dr. TidIer be elected by acclamation. The
motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
Vice Chairman of Board: Dr. Reynolds nominated Mr. Chadwick as vice chairman,
Mr. Carter made the motion that the nominations be closed. Motion was seconded
and carried unanimously.
Committee on Fees: A committee had been appointed to investigate charging fees
for our laboratory services and to investigate raising the fees for x-ray.
Material was distributed concerning the possibility of charging fees for various
clinic services through Medicaid. Dr. TidIer stated that he felt the committee
on fees should be reappointed and charged with the duty of investigating these
fees in addition to laboratory and x-ray. He asked that Dr. Reynolds serve
as chairman and that Dr. Furr and Mrs. Wright serve with him.
Committee on WIC Pro?ram: Information was given to the members of the board
on additional nutrit10n program that is available under Title XX. This
committee will investigate this progam with the WIC program and give its
recommendations to the board by April 1 so that a decision can be made before
budget time.
Liability Insurance: A letter had been received from the Wilmington-New
Hanover Insurance Advisory Commission stating that the Board is covered by
Liability Insurance with a combined limit of $1,000,000.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
