Public Comments – None Old Business – Interactive 1898 Map – Jan Davidson and Travis Souther – African-American Historical Sites Map was put together on the library’s website – to visit this map, go to the Library website, click on Local History Room, and then click on eResources: Cape Fear History. It was created with Google Maps. Other resources on the site are 1897-1900 business maps that have been plotted onto Google Maps. Additionally, the African-American Historical Map is now live, but missing the demographics portion, which should be completed quickly. Jan (with the help of Travis and his assistant) is working on an 1898 story map that is almost done using events from that year. It can eventually be used for education and field trips. Just needs editing and approval by educators before finalization. Ms. Maxwell would like for the Remembrance Committee to use this map and will reach out to Jan. Mr. Lacewell suggested getting this information to kids, so they have the most accurate history. Committee Break Outs - Rescheduling of Meetings Outside of Regular Meeting Cemetery – Chairs absent. Education – Mr. Lacewell wants to join; Tufanna will reach out to Ms. Skiba. Outreach – Ms. Fong, Ms. Gaines, and Ms. Pershia are all good to meet after 5:30 on workdays; Tufanna can also, except on Wednesdays and Thursdays or on the day of County Commission meetings. Mondays, Tuesdays, or Fridays after 5:30pm are the consensus for meeting times going forward. Research – A Google Drive has been set up to share files on both Shell Island Resort and Seabreeze for anyone who would like to see. Ms. Walker will contact Ms. Ogelsby to set up the next virtual meeting, since they cannot meet in person at the library. Committee Reports (Chairs) See above VI.
