Mason asked if there was a motion to approve; Steven Still made a motion, Jerry Brewer seconded. All in favor for approving the minutes; none opposed. Motion passed.
OLD BUSINESS:
Radios
Steven
Still asked that the radio discussion be tabled until Zak Whicker was present.
NEW BUSINESS
By-Laws
Chairman Mason asked if there were any issues to discuss regarding the current
By-Laws. Hope Downs stated that the County was currently revising the By-Laws to be more informational and it is still under discussion.
Chairman Mason stated meeting every other
month could be transitioned to meeting quarterly with possible meetings as needed as issues arose. This can be discussed in February about dates for quarterly meetings.
Chairman Mason
asked if there were any items to add for new business. Steven Still stated that the radios and towers would be moving under the 911 side. 911 is asking for a radio technician; would
the Board support this request? This is something that can be further discussed in February. Steven Still said the person would work with all of the agencies within the county.
Chairman
Mason stated that City Fire does struggle sometimes and would likely benefit from a person devoted to radios.
Steven also said the redevelopment of the Government Center may have
intermittent issues that will be communicated if known in advance. The request to have a tower site at Loren is not possible, the Coast Guard is selling that site for development. There
will be a search for property on the south side for another location suitable for our needs.
Chairman Mason asked if there were any other items to add; there were none.
OTHER ITEMS
AND REPORTS
9-1-1 Center
Chairman Mason asked Hope Downs to update everyone on the 911 Center. Hope stated she is working with Strategy, Human Resources and Budget about
the current workload of staff as well as the radio technician to see if it is possible with the upcoming year.
Hope also stated that the Auto dispatch is moving ahead; starting with
fire. Hopefully the kickoff will be in January.
Chairman Mason asked if anyone had any other items or questions.
IT
Chairman Mason asked Cindy Hewett to update everyone on IT. Cindy
wanted to thank everyone for their assistance with security accounts; removing inactive employees.
IT is currently working on monthly patching updates to reduce vulnerability. IT
is also working on RSA tokens. This impacts the Sheriff’s staff and should be completed by February.
Chairman Mason asked if there were any other items; there were none.
