Chairman Rogers asked if everyone had a chance to review the summary from December 5, 2019 and asked if there were any questions, comments or corrections. No one had any. All in favor for approving the minutes; none opposed. Motion passed. OLD BUSINESS: Freedom and Central Square Chairman Rogers asked if there were any outstanding issues with Central Square and Freedom; Gia Long stated they have been working with Chris Graham to get issues fixed. Chairman Rogers asked if anyone had any other issues or comments about Central Square; there were none. By-Laws Chairman Rogers if there was a status update on the By-Law changes that had been proposed. It was mentioned that it has gone to the County Managers office for revamping. It will have to be sent to the County Commissioners for approval when completed. NEW BUSINESS Chairman Rogers asked if EMS had any issues or items. Tim Corbett stated they were trying to ensure their connection stayed secure and stable since it is going through the old Health Department building. Gia Long stated that needed to be addressed with Cindy Hewett. Matt Davis said they are running a pilot program through the DRC to ensure the units are recommended correctly. There should not be any difference seen during this pilot program. OTHER ITEMS AND REPORTS 9-1-1 Center Director Lindsey informed everyone the budget is in review. Some items require the ITGC (IT Governance Committee) approval and Consulting Forms that are reviewed by Budget and Finance. They are allowing the tablets to replace cardsets for EMD, EPD and EFD. This allows for more up to date information than cardsets. There has been a team created for the redevelopment of the Government Complex. They have outlined the needs of the departments within the complex and will have proposals soon. The radios at the backup center were tested last month. All of the staff were moved to the backup center for a thorough cleaning of the primary center. This seemed to be a seamless move during the 24 hours that the backup was operating. The plan is to do this once a month. This would assure us that we are getting the primary center cleaned as well as ensuring our equipment is operating correctly. ESInet is a project that is being pushed out by the state for phone lines. It will create redundancy and more reliability of operations of 911 calls. Hope and Karen will complete their CALEA classes this week. This is preparing 911 to become CALEA certified in the future. March 4 there is an Active Assailant drill scheduled. Anyone that would like to participate will need to contact Donald Taft. This drill is scheduled for after 6pm. This will be a full scale exercise where they will clear the building. 911 staff are going through the hiring process for staffing the center for telecommunicators. They have tested and are at the interview stage of the applicants. The hire date is scheduled for March 24th. There are 6 overfill positions open for telecommunicators. There are also two CTO openings; these positions were vacated by two that were promoted to assistant supervisors. Our QA (Quality Assurance) team has done a fantastic job; there is overall improvement in compliance levels. EMD and EFD have improved just not at accreditation levels but EPD is at that level. National Telecommunicator week is the second week in April. Purvis has been approved by the NC 911 Board with surcharge funds of approximately $135,000 and the balance to be paid by New Hanover County. The total cost is around $179,000. This is just the piece that is utilized by 911. Chairman Rogers asked if anyone had any other items or questions. Steven Still has been appointed with Kate Oelslager as lead planners for the Coronavirus. They are working on a plan for all foreseeable items in a case of an outbreak. There are several factors to take in consideration such as entry from an area of interest as well as vehicle of entry and symptoms exhibited. EMS and 911 are modifying the cards pertaining to Coronavirus. IT IT is working on Windows 10 upgrade. The end of life on Windows 7 is January 2021. WEBEOC is also being rebuilt.
