Adjournment NEW HANOVER COUNTY PARKS CONSERVANCY BOARD PAGE 1 REGULAR MEETING APRIL 19, 2022 ASSEMBLY The Parks Conservancy Board held its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, 5:30pm at the Airlie Cottage. Present: Mark Ihnat (presiding), Jim Orr, Tony Pagrabs, Philip White. Via Teams: Dave Ellegood, Karl Hess. Absent: Commissioner Jonathan Barfield, Jessica Gray, Cheryl Hannah, Gabriella De Souza, Tess Osmer, Spero Pekatos. Staff: Tara Duckworth, Tanya Gurganious, Andy Johnson, and Jodi Rich. WELCOME AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mark Ihnat called the meeting to order. There was no quorum so the minutes will be voted on at the next meeting. 1. Staff Report. Tara Duckworth shared with the board information regarding the many trail projects that staff is currently working on such as the South and North College Road trails, the Gordon Road trail along with the Middle Sound Loop trail. The new lighting at the Long Leaf tennis courts have been completed and resurfacing will take place in September. Still waiting on the permit for Hanover Pines which will be a 42-acre passive park. Jodi Rich shared updates re Echo Farms Pool, which is being prepped ning. (The pool management will be done by our department this year.) Currently seeking lifeguards. (The board was asked to share information regarding the need.) Jodi is also working with a group of UNCW students who will put together a program survey for Echo Farms to assist with devising new programs. 2. . Jodo Rich reviewed the financial information. Total assets were $66,123.69. Contributions received was $210 from Plant an Azalea and $1,500 from Food Truck Rodeo vendor fees. th 3. Food Truck Rodeo. Jodi Rich shared that the rodeo will take place next Sunday, April 24 at Ogden Park from 12noon until 5pm. Dave Ellegood volunteered to work from 2-5pm as there was still a need for board help. Tess has the supplies needed the art project. There will be 12 food trucks, wine, beer, and live music. 4. Old Business/New Business. Philip White asked for flyers to share at the Community College regarding the need for lifeguards. He will also share on social media. st 5. Next Meeting. The next meeting will take place on June 21 possibly at the Wrightsville Beach Brewery. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 6:02pm.
